Testing 10k Concurrent Clients
Topology
The test Pritunl cluster used ten c4.large Pritunl nodes and one r3.large MongoDB server. Twenty r3.xlarge nodes were used for VPN clients each handling 500 clients. More information on running a production Pritunl cluster for 10k clients can be found in the documentation.
Connecting
Each OpenVPN client is run in a docker container with 500 containers running on each instance. Terraform was used to automate creating the cluster and client nodes. The scripts and code used to automate the test can be found on GitHub.
Two hours after starting no errors or disconnects occurred.
